The Cabin’s Happy Tails 11.05.24

KKBN has teamed up with the Humane Society of Tuolumne County and Live Oak Veterinary Hospital in Sonora to bring you Happy Tails. We are all animal lovers here at The Cabin and we want to see more loving pets find forever homes.

Each week we will feature a pet that needs a home and we hope you will find it in your heart to give them one. The morning host will announce pets on Tuesday Morning and you can check here to see photos and info.

: Bowser: 6 month old, Male, Terrier/Hound, 25 lbs Bowser is a good boy! This happy pup is just that- happy! He’s joyful, playful, and has your typical happy-go-lucky puppy personality. Bowser is young and still needs to learn the basics, but we have him started on skills like leash walking, “sit”, no jumping, etc. Bowser likes to have dog buddies and has done well hanging out in our lobby with the cats. We haven’t seen him around children yet, but since he is so young, we anticipate he would acclimate in almost any type of home. Come by and meet this cool pup!

: Cecilia: 3 month old, Female, Pit Bull Terrier/Cattle Dog, 18 pounds Cecilia is your typical puppy- ready to take on the world and learn all the new things! You’re starting fresh with this girl, so be prepared for obedience and potty training, and continuing her socialization. So far she is outgoing with everyone she meets and is ready to be best friends right away. Cecilia is as darling as they come. Stop by the shelter and meet her!

: Sunflower: 5 years old, Female, Domestic Shorthair, 10 pounds Meet Sunflower! This retired mama cat did an excellent job raising her babies and adopting orphaned kittens that needed a mom. Now that they’ve grown and been adopted, she’s ready for her turn! Sunflower is equal parts sweet and sassy (well, maybe just a hint more of sassy) and loves to stay active with the world around her. She is curious about new things and wants to be included, but has a cut off point where she’s ready to settle down and have her “me time”. Food is also life in this girl’s eyes, so if you’re interested in a confident, bold, foodie friend, consider Sunflower!

: Forest: 6 month old, Male, Hound, 50 pounds Forest is a sweet and shy boy who has been coming out of his shell more and more each day he’s been with us. He likes to take an easy pace at life and explore his surroundings before he shows his goofy side. Like any true Hound, this boy can also sing when he’s excited! Forest has made many friends while with us and would likely do well in a home with other dogs to hang out with. If you’re looking for a dog that prefers nature over the hustle and bustle, then come meet Forest!

: Austin: 5 months old, Male, Shorthair Tabby Austin is a fun-loving and affectionate teenage kitten. He loves to run around our lobby to play with the other kittens and chase any toys he finds. Fun fact– he loves to chase his own tail! Austin has one of the loudest purrs of our cats and would love to spend time with you- come by the shelter and meet him!

: Bonanza: 1-2 years old, Male, 14 pounds, Terrier mix This charming and exuberant pup is on the lookout for his new family! With an infectious spirit and a personality that radiates happiness, Bonanza is always ready to greet everyone with a wagging tail and a warm smile. His outgoing nature makes him a wonderful companion, and while he loves to “chat” when he’s excited, he knows how to listen when the conversation matters most. Bonanza loves his daily walks, exploring the outdoors, and soaking up quality time with the dedicated staff and volunteers who care for him. Bonanza is eager to find his new home and would love to meet you today!

: Coco: 18 months old, Female, Doberman mix, 55 pounds This sweetie will melt your heart in an instant! Coco has a soft and loving personality. She wants to be near her people and is learning lots of new things about the world such as car rides, being indoors, and walking on leash. She’s a quick learner! Coco has made some friends with other dogs at the shelter and might do well paired with a dog buddy (just no cats or livestock please!). Coco has spent time in a foster home with children and they report she is a rockstar with kids and definitely family dog material. She is a gem in the making and she can’t wait to meet you!

: Benji: 6-year-old, Male, Labrador mix, 40 pounds Benji is a hoot! This playful fella has all the happy antics of a young pup, but the experience to know some basics to being in a home. Benji walks good on leash, has done well with other dogs, and enjoys a good romp in the yard before settling in for the night. Benji is at a great size too, not too big or too small at 40 pounds.

: Clint: 4 month old, Male, Brown Tabby Clint came to our care in dire need of help. He was covered in fleas and anemic, dehydrated, and suffering from a respiratory infection. This lucky kitty was saved in the nick of time, and with TLC from staff & volunteers, has regained his health. Clint is a total sweetheart and is well-known for his snuggly personality. You can even find him helping with office work such as in his photo (sitting on their shoulder like a parrot). Clint is really enjoying living indoors and being pampered- we hope you visit and consider adopting him!

: Fable: 3 years old, Female, Chihuahua mix, 7 pounds Meet Fable, an adorably petite Chihuahua mix on a heartfelt quest for her loving home. This sweet little girl may start off a bit shy, but with a sprinkle of baby talk and gentle pets, she quickly warms up to reveal her playful and sassy personality. Fable is a connoisseur of cozy beds and is always seeking the perfect spot to curl up and soak in the warmth. She enjoys tasty treats and loves taking walks around the block where she can explore the world at her own pace. As a petite companion, Fable is the ideal sidekick for anyone seeking a small, loving friend who’s easy to travel with and loves to follow you from room to room. : Alamo asks for one thing: give the shy ones a chance! He loves playing with his kitty friends and once he knows you, he’ll climb in your lap for love and purrs. Alamo will be scared when you first meet him, but give him a little time and you’ll see how amazing he is. He’s free-roaming the shelter lobby during open hours, so come spend the day with him and fall in love!

: Fedora: 3 months old, Male, Domestic Shorthair Fedora is just a little guy at 3 months old. He and his siblings were found in a truck engine covered in fleas and suffering from a respiratory infection.

: Jude: 18 month old, Male, Schnauzer/Terrier mix, 15 pounds.

: Asta: 2 year old, Female, Domestic Shorthair Beautiful Asta was one of our mamas to the many litters of kittens that have started off kitten season. Her kittens are all grown, so now it’s her turn to be pampered!

: Beavis: 6 month old, Male, Pug mix, 15 pounds (and growing) If you’re looking for a wiggle worm that’s all about fun, come meet Beavis!

: Sunshine: 2 year old, Female, Chihuahua/Papillon mix, 15 pounds

: Nacho: 3 month old, Male, Domestic Shorthair Nacho was born on 3/26/24 with his brothers and sisters.

: Phantom: 7 year old, Male, Chihuahua mix, 15 pounds If you’re looking for an independent friend who enjoys adventures and exploring, come meet Phantom! This boy is loyal with his family, but is more of a free-spirit rather than a cuddle bug . He’s in great shape for a dog more mature in years and will keep up on hikes and road trips without issue. Phantom is very much a big dog trapped in a small body, so if you can appreciate a smaller buddy who wants to stay active, consider Phantom!

: Rosalinda: 2 years old, Female, Domestic Shorthair Rosalinda is a doll! This outgoing and super friendly girl will be the first to greet you when you come for a visit- so expect her to say hello when you come in the lobby! Rosalinda came to us with her litter of kittens, and now that they’re grown up, she’s looking for a home! Rosalinda was an excellent mama and continues to be affectionate toward those she loves. She is active, playful, and loves to sample any tasty snacks you might have. She does well mingling with our other cats in the lobby, but does like to stir things up every now and then. If you have other kitties at home, we recommend they be active and playful like her!

: Mars: 2 months old, Male, Domestic mediumhair Mars is over the moon adorable! He comes from our Galaxy litter and was raised around lots of brothers and sisters. Mars is a stunning mix of black and smoke coloring with your typical playful and adventurous personality. Mars’ mama is also at our shelter if you’d like to see where his sweet personality comes from. Come by, spend time with him, and take him home!

: Neptune: Male, Shorthair Tabby, 8 weeks Neptune is one of the handsome Galaxy kittens! You can find him in the lobby kitten room playing with his friends and exploring cat trees. Neptune is also up for some cuddling after a day of adventuring, so you’ll get your kitten fill in with this cutie. Come by and bring this adorable boy home!

: Tango: 1 year old, Male, Chihuahua/Pug mix, 10 pounds Tango gets his name for his happy dances! This boy will joyfully dance with you when he’s excited and enjoys the company of people. He strives to be a lap dog, your shadow, and being told how handsome he is. Tango would make a great buddy for someone looking for a smaller dog that has some pep, but also knows how to “kick back and relax.” Come meet Tango!

: Ducky: 2 month old, Female, Domestic Shorthair Tuxedo What’s not to love about Ducky? This little kitten is all love and spunk. She was raised as a bottle baby by her foster mom, so she’s been exposed to life in a home along with other dogs and cats. Ducky is social, loving, and curious- the perfect blend for any household. Expect this girl to explore, play, and be a wonderful member of the family!

: Johann: 8 year old, Male, Terrier mix, 20 pounds. Johann is a gem! This lovable boy is easy going and easy to work with. He has house manners and some basic obedience skills under his belt. Johann will happily hang out with you for some quiet time or will tag along for a nice walk around the block. Don’t hold his age against him- Johann has plenty of love left to give!\

: Graham: 8 months old, Male, Cattle Dog mix, 35 pounds Graham is a wiggly, happy-go-lucky, overjoyed-to-see-you type of pup! He loves playing with dog friends, so he would be a good candidate for a home with other dogs. Graham is learning some basic obedience skills and would make a great adventure buddy. He’s ready to have fun and meet his family, so come meet him today

: Sullivan: 2 months old, Male, Chihuahua mix, 3 pounds Sully is the most adorable teeny tiny pup we’ve seen in awhile! He will need a home that will keep him safe and loved. He’s tiny enough that getting stepped on or jumping off a couch too high could hurt him, and being outside unattended will make him susceptible to predators, so a vigilant home is a must! Sully is tiny but mighty for such a young guy- he’ll play with you and adventure around his house without problem. He loves being with people, but also does great when it’s time for him to settle. We just love this little guy and know you will too!

: Tracie: 2 year old, Female, Main Coon mix, 10 pounds This regal gal came to us with her litter of kittens after being found as a stray through Animal Control. Her kittens have since been adopted, and now it’s Tracie’s turn! She’s very friendly and active- loves to climb cat trees and watch her “kingdom” from above. Tracie is still learning how to be social with other adult cats and learning about dogs. Tracie is lovable and would make a great queen for her new home. Come meet her for yourself!

: Tessa: 18 months old, Female, Shorthaired Calico If you’re looking for a mellow and introverted friend, Tessa could be a great match! She loves chin scratches and would do well in a quieter home where she can relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. Don’t let her shyness fool you, Tessa is a lover!

: Mochi: 7 month old, Male, Shorthair Tuxedo Mochi is as easy-going as they come. For a teenager, Mochi likes to explore and have playtime, but you can mostly find him sleeping in and taking naps on the cat trees. He mingles very well with the other cats in our lobby and does enjoys the company of all people he’s met.

: Rosko: 3 year old, Male, Aussie/Hound mix, 40 pounds Rosko is a loving boy who wants nothing more than to spend time with you. He has the dashing good looks of larger dogs, but he’s a petite guy at only 40 pounds. He’s done well with other dogs and loves to spend time outdoors. Rosko is learning some basics, but wants to please, so with some guidance he’ll have his training down in no time. Rosko would make an excellent car riding pal, fishing pal, or play-in-the-backyard pal- the key word is pal! Rosko excels at friendship and would love to add you as a BFF!
