KKBN has teamed up with the Humane Society of Tuolumne County and Live Oak Veterinary Hospital in Sonora to bring you Happy Tails. We are all animal lovers here at The Cabin and we want to see more loving pets find forever homes.
Each week we will feature a pet that needs a home and we hope you will find it in your heart to give them one. The morning host will announce pets on Tuesday Morning and you can check here to see photos and info.

Chandler: 5 month old, Male, Domestic Short Hair Say hello to Chandler! Chandler loves playing with his brother Ross, gets along well with other kitties, and loves to explore new places! This boy is confident and bold, so he’d do well with a family that can provide him with lots of fun and playtime!

Sassy: 1 year old, Female, Shepherd mix, 60 pounds Sassy is very friendly with people and has made friends with several dogs at the shelter. She wants to play, play, play and would love to go home with you! She enjoys walks in low-traffic neighborhoods and will melt in your lap once she’s home and relaxed.

Bowie: 5 month old, Male, Domestic Shorthair/Tuxedo Handsome Bowie has your classic Tuxedo coat and is ready to have fun! Bowie loves to bounce around the kitten room with the rest of his pals and would do great in most home environments. Come meet him!

Captain Beefheart: 8 month old, Male, 55 lbs, American Staffy mix Meet Captain Beef! This goofy goober is a beefcake of a pup that is all wiggles and happiness. He loves people and wants to play with other dogs and be the social butterfly. Captain loves to give kisses and will happily dance his way into your heart with his silly personality. He’s working on his basic obedience skills and is receiving an A+ from staff and volunteers, so we know he’s not only a cutie, but smart too!

Benji: 6-year-old, Male, Labrador mix, 40 pounds Benji is a hoot! This playful fella has all the happy antics of a young pup, but the experience to know some basics to being in a home. Benji walks good on leash, has done well with other dogs, and enjoys a good romp in the yard before settling in for the night. Benji is at a great size too, not too big or too small at 40 pounds.

Asher: 5 month old, Male, Shorthair Tuxedo Little guy Asher loves playing with his kitten friends and relaxing on cat trees. He can be a bit of a wallflower with people at first, but give him some time, and he’ll be climbing in your lap to say hello.

Ross: 5 months, Male, Domestic Shorthair/Tuxedo Ross is the life of the party! This boy loves to hang out on shoulders (maybe your head if you’ll let him!). If he’s not running around the kitten room playing and exploring, he can be found snuggled in the cat trees for a nap with his friends.

Luna: 10 month old, Female, Pit Bull/Border Collie mix, 40 pounds Luna is an easy-going girl looking for a loving place to call home. She is timid in new situations, but she enjoys making new friends, so with some confidence building, Luna will come out of her shell in no time. Luna has done well with other dogs and tends to be on the submissive side, so she would likely benefit from having a confident dog friend around that isn’t too rambunctious. Luna is still young and ready to learn! She will thrive with a gentle hand that can show her the ropes and teach her all the fun things life has to offer!

Berlin: Black/White Shorthair, 5 months old, Male Little Berlin is still learning all there is to the world and can’t wait to continue growing up with a new family. He’s still a little guy, only a couple months old, but give him some TLC and all the fun a kitten can have.

Abel: 3 year old, Male, Basset Hound/Bulldog mix, 40 pounds Abel is the cutest short-stack with the adorable blocky head of a Bulldog and the short legs of a Basset Hound. This boy loves to be fawned over and will wiggle with excitement when you say hello. He does great on his walks and might do well with a dog friend, too! Abel will definitely be one of the more unique looking dogs on the block and is an overall joy to be around.

Teddy: 8 month old, Male, Aussie/Golden Retriever mix, 50 pounds Like his name implies, he’s a big ole teddy bear who craves human interaction and attention. Teddy is still a puppy and is learning some basics, like not jumping up to say hello, but overall has a good-spirited personality. Teddy has been around a few other dogs and would likely enjoy a dog friend in his new home. If you’re looking for a younger dog that you can train and blend with your family, Teddy could be your boy!

Bindi: 9 month old, Female, Border Collie mix, 30lbs Bindi has a lot of energy and enthusiasm for life, so she would thrive in an active household. She is very friendly and makes friends with everyone. She has had playdates with other dogs, so she might do well with another dog friend. Bindi is deaf, but it doesn’t slow her down! She’d love to meet you soon!

Tater: 1 year old, Male, Min Pin/Dachshund mix, 12 pounds Sweet Tater is shy when he first says hello to new people, but is friendly enough to want to be friends. Give this cutie pie a few minutes to feel safe, and he’ll come up to you for attention and walks. Tater would do great with a mellow household, as he likes to play, but isn’t overly rambunctious. He enjoys his time outside and would do great with someone that likes to take walks around the block or lounge in the backyard on nice days.

Aspen: 2 month old, Female, Longhair Tuxedo mix Gorgeous Aspen is all dressed up in her finest and ready to meet you! She can be unsure of strangers at first, but if you sit with her, she’ll soon be crawling in your lap for attention and a warm place to nap. She is the smallest of her litter and might stay petite as she ages, but regardless, this sweet baby has lots of love to give!

Tatum: 2 year old, Female, Terrier/Schnauzer mix, 30 pounds Tatum is as cute as they come. Her scruffy face and big brown eyes will make anyone fall in love with her. She has made a few dog friends at the shelter and didn’t mind being around cats either, so she could be a good choice if you have other animals in your home. Tatum’s number one goal in life is to be where her people are. She’ll be your shadow around the house and would love to be your full-time buddy!

Loretta: 6 year old, Female, Coonhound mix, 50 pounds Meet our wonderful Hound girl, Loretta! This sweet-as-pie gal knows how to give the best puppy eyes and loving looks. She came to us from our local animal control, where she was found wandering the roadway with a hurt leg. She’s all better now and ready to find a loving home! Loretta enjoys her walks and time outside, but she enjoys her time with people even more. Loretta does have the Hound voice in her, but she isn’t the type to sing too often (Hound people know what we mean!). She’s quickly become a favorite at the shelter. Come meet her and see why!

Ginger: 8 year old, Female, Cattle Dog/Chow mix, 50 pounds Ginger is a timid girl who came to us from our local animal control where she was surrendered. Depending on the person, she may need time to feel comfortable, but a nice walk or chicken treats is a quick way to become her friend. Ginger is a short and stocky girl, so her whole body tends to wiggle when she’s excited to say hello and it’s the cutest thing! Ginger can mingle with other dogs as long as they’re easy-going, but she also seems to enjoy having one-on-one time with her people. Her ideal day includes eating yummy food, sunbathing on the porch, and finding a soft bed to snooze on at the end of the day. While Ginger bonds closely with the folks she knows best, she appreciates time spent together more than an abundance of cuddling and would do great with someone looking for a low-maintenance friend.

Adam: 5 month old, Male, Domestic Shorthair mix Sweet little Adam is hoping to find his family soon! He came to us with several other kittens and cats and does well with feline friends. Adam is on the quieter side, but enjoys playing and getting loves from people. We’ve already seen how loving this boy can be and know he’ll blossom in a home! Adam is 5 months old, so he still has lots of growing to do!

Stella- 3 month old, Female, Pit Bull Terrier, 20 lbs (and growing!) Stella was born at the end of July and is still very young, so it’s important that her new owners help her continue to form positive associations with people, other dogs, and new places, so she can grow into a confident and friendly adult. So far, she’s had a great start to life and is a social and happy pup. Stella still needs to learn the basics, but to be expected with a pup her age. Stella has done well with all people and animals she’s met and would blend in most households.

Toby: 6 month old, Male, Chihuahua/Pug mix, 13 pounds Who’s a goofy goober? Toby’s a goofy goober! This young pup is all about fun and if you can get him to stop wiggling, you’ll see he has the cutest underbite in history. Toby loves people and wants nothing more than your attention. He’s lived with other dogs in the past and may enjoy a dog pal in his new home. Toby is still very much a pup and will need someone willing to teach him some basics (no jumping, house-training, etc.). If you’re looking for a happy guy, Toby is your boy!

Talullah: 5 month old, Female, Labrador Retriever mix, 35 pounds Sweet and shy Talullah is coming out of her shell more and more each day. She enjoys having dog friends and wants to be around people, but can be a wallflower at first. She’s learning some of the basics of life like going for walks and getting all the snuggles, and so far so good! Talullah is still a puppy and growing by the day, so we’re hoping she can continue growing up with a loving family!

Jack: 5 year old, Male, Terrier mix, 20 pounds Jack is an easy-going guy looking for a nice yard to play in and a warm place to settle in for the night. He still has some pep to him, but is over the puppy stages in life. Jack has lived with other dogs in the past and might enjoy living with a dog buddy in his new home. Courage is very friendly and while an enthusiastic adventurer most days, he has been known to be a mellow boy when he’s hanging out in a home. Courage gets along very well with all people and has lots of dog friends at the shelter. He’s goofy, affectionate, and loves toys!

Rosie: Foxhound mix, 2 year old, Female, 45lbs Sweet Rosie is a gorgeous girl with a gentle heart. She has done great with both people and other dogs, and would likely enjoy a dog friend in her new home. Rosie enjoys her walks and quality time with people. She’d love to meet a loving family soon!

Rocket: 5 year old, Male, Chihuahua, 8 pounds Rocket is a staff favorite around the shelter. He enjoys being an office buddy and will run to greet you if it means getting loves and pets. Rocket does well on a leash and mingles with our lobby cats without issue. If you’re looking for a boy that’s more interested in relaxing at home rather than going on adventures, Rocket could be your match!

Shadow: 6 month old, Male, Domestic Mediumhair Shadow came to us with several other kittens and cats and does well with feline friends that can keep up with his mischievous antics. Shadow is outgoing and loves to say hello to people and wrestle/play with other cats. He would likely do well with kids as it doesn’t take long for him to befriend strangers!

Patrick: 7 year old, Male, Chihuahua mix, 15 pounds Patrick is a love! He is on the quiet side and makes an excellent office buddy. He has great manners and has gotten along with the other dogs he’s met at the shelter. Patrick might be house-trained already, too! This boy would make a great lap companion if you’re looking for a dog on the mellow side.

Lilly: 4-5 month old, Female, Hound/Shepherd mix, 40 pounds Lilly is as cute as they come! This social butterfly can’t wait to meet new people and friends and doesn’t know a stranger. Lilly is going to be a large dog- so be prepared as she grows!
