KKBN has teamed up with the Humane Society of Tuolumne County and Live Oak Veterinary Hospital in Sonora to bring you Happy Tails.
We are all animal lovers here at The Cabin and we want to see more loving pets find forever homes.
Each week we will feature a pet that needs a home and we hope you will find it in your heart to give them one. Alisha in the Morning will announce pets on Tuesday morning and you can check here to see photos and info.

Jasmine: 5-month-old, Female, Longhair Jasmine is adorable! This girl is sugar sweet with a little hint of mischief. She loves to play and stay active, but also appreciates a snuggle or two in her down time. Jasmine has done well with the other kitties she’s met and would likely do well in most home environments.

Benji: 5-year-old, Male, Labrador mix, 40 pounds Benji is a hoot! This playful fella has all the happy antics of a young pup, but the experience to know some basics to being in a home. Benji walks good on leash, has done well with other dogs, and enjoys a good romp in the yard before settling in for the night. Benji is at a great size too, not too big or too small at 40 pounds.

Domino: 10 month old, Male, Terrier mix, 27 pounds Domino wants nothing more than reassurance and time with his people. He is timid in new situations, but seeks out love and will crawl in your lap if you let him. Domino has lived with several dogs in the past, so he may enjoy a dog friend. He would love a home that can show him how wonderful people can be!

Shadow: 6 month old, Male, Domestic Mediumhair Shadow came to us with several other kittens and cats and does well with feline friends that can keep up with his mischievous antics. Shadow is outgoing and loves to say hello to people and wrestle/play with other cats. He would likely do well with kids as it doesn’t take long for him to befriend strangers!

Cherry: 10 month old, Female, Labrador mix, 35 pounds Cherry is full of spunk and zest for life! This girl loves to play with dog pals, go for walks, and see what kind of adventure she can discover. She has a nice energy level where she is always ready to be on the go, but also settles once the day is over.

Rey: 3 month old, Female, Brown Tabby Rey has come such a long way since she arrived and has blossomed into a beautiful kitten! While still a little shy at first, give her a moment to feel at ease, and watch the purrs and head bumps emerge. Rey is just over 3 months old and growing quickly. We’d love to see her get adopted soon!

Jif: 7 month old, Male, Dachshund mix, 15 pounds Jif is such a lovebug once you give him a moment to feel comfortable. While timid in new situations, he quickly warms up and enjoys being a lap dog. He has made several dog friends at the shelter too, both his size and bigger, so he might do good with a dog friend! Jif’s love language is quality time together, so if you’re one looking for a shadow around the house or a buddy to accompany you in the yard, come meet Jif!

Sassy: 1 year old, Female, Shepherd mix, 60 pounds Sassy is very friendly with people and has made friends with several dogs at the shelter. She wants to play, play, play and would love to go home with you! She enjoys walks in low-traffic neighborhoods and will melt in your lap once she’s home and relaxed.

Courage: 2 year old, Male, Pointer mix, 50 pounds Courage is a catch! Courage is very friendly and while an enthusiastic adventurer most days, he has been known to be a mellow boy when he’s hanging out in a home. Courage gets along very well with all people and has lots of dog friends at the shelter. He’s goofy, affectionate, and loves toys!

Pepper: 2 year old, Male, Labrador mix, 50lbs Pepper is a very sweet and gentle boy who’s ready to find his forever home! He’s a shy guy and is usually nervous when meeting new people, but he’s already made huge progress during his time with us. It’s not hard to gain Pepper’s trust, and once you do, he is extremely affectionate, loving, and loyal towards you. Pepper is highly food motivated and very responsive to reinforcement-based training.

Nanook: 3 year old, Male, Mixed Breed, 65lbs Nanook is a special boy. He’s been at our shelter longer than any other animal in our care- over 900 days! He has been overlooked consistently and rarely gets a visitor. If you have it in your heart to give him a home, please get in touch with us! Nanook is a strong boy who needs to be the only pet in his home, but give him some good chew toys and a nice backyard to sunbathe, and he’ll be happy! Nanook knows several obedience commands and is highly food motivated, so he’d do great continuing his training once adopted.

Bindi: 9 month old, Female, Border Collie mix, 30lbs Bindi has a lot of energy and enthusiasm for life, so she would thrive in an active household. She is very friendly and makes friends with everyone. She has had playdates with other dogs, so she might do well with another dog friend. Bindi is deaf, but it doesn’t slow her down! She’d love to meet you soon!

Baby Girl: 2 years old, Female, Pit bull/Ridgeback mix, 40 pounds Baby Girl is looking for a compassionate person to love her. She barks when meeting new people, but a handful of treats quickly wins her over. She does well with some other dogs, and loves to play with toys and can entertain herself quite easily. Anakin: 3 month old, Male, Brown Tabby Anakin is timid at first, but coming out of his shell more and more each day. Anakin loves to run around with cat friends and will likely do well with dogs if introduced properly. He has slowly become a lap kitten as he gets used to being spoiled by staff & volunteers!

Jyn: 3 month old, Female, Gray Tabby Jyn is somewhat timid at first, but comes out of her shell more and more each day. She and her siblings were found abandoned in a suitcase, so they haven’t had the easiest start in life, but they’re slowly learning that humans can be great! Jyn loves to run around with kitten friends and will likely do well with dogs if introduced properly. You can often find her snuggled up with her sister, Padme.

Sally Mae: 1 year old, Female, Tortoiseshell, 10 pounds Beautiful Sally Mae came to us just before giving birth to her kittens. Her babies are all grown and Sally is now ready for her home! She is extremely friendly and does great with the other cats at our shelter. She would enjoy a home where she can get lots of love and playtime, and would likely thrive with another cat friend!

Baxter: 1 year old, Male, Beagle/Spaniel mix, 30 pounds Baxter is a very happy boy looking for a home where he can have lots of play time and walks. He loves to say hi to new people and hasn’t met a stranger yet! Baxter has the happy-go-lucky mentality and would do well in an active home.

Buddy- 8 year old, Male, Labrador Retriever Buddy boy is a gem! He has plenty of pep to enjoy playtime and walks, but has the easy-going nature of an older dog. Buddy will need a home without small livestock or cats, but he’s made a few dogs friends at the shelter and enjoys meeting all sorts of people!

Emma Mae: 2 month old, Female, Gray/White Emma Mae and her siblings were born at our shelter and have grown into wonderful little kittens! They are friendly and ready to explore the world. Emma Mae is a loving girl who would blend well in most homes. Come by the shelter to meet her and her beautiful siblings

Anna Mae: 2 month old, Female, Tortoiseshell Anna Mae is a gorgeous kitten ready to play and bring some love in your home! She spends her days playing with her kitten friends and exploring cat trees. Being so young, she’ll blend well in most households and would love to go home with you today!

Gatsby- 3 month old, Male, Shorthair Tuxedo Meet Gatsby! He is friendly with people and gets along well with other cats. Gatsby grew up in a foster home and has great social skills! He would thrive in most home environments.

Toast: 3 month old, Male, Domestic Shorthair, 3lbs Toast is playful, outgoing, and loves doing all the crazy kitten flips and tricks. Be sure to have plenty of toys for this baby. He’s ready to play! Toast loves exploring the lobby and keeping all the other cats on their toes, so you’ll be sure to see him if you stop by.

TJ: 2 month old, Male, Black TJ was born at the shelter and has grown into a charming and cuddly kitty. He loves playing and exploring with his siblings and would love to continue growing in his new home!

Monkey: 2 year old, Female, Domestic Shorthair, 6lbs Monkey is a staff favorite! She likes to stay in cat trees often, but will venture out when things are quiet and she feels at ease. Monkey would thrive in a quiet home that doesn’t have a lot of hustle and bustle. She has done well with the other cats at the shelter and lived with a small dog previously, so she would likely get along if you already have other pets at home.

Munchkin: 5 year old, Female, Labrador Retriever mix, 75lbs Munchkin is a joy! This girl has been so eager to meet new people of all ages and dog friends while she’s been at the shelter. She enjoys her playtime, but also knows how to hang out if you’re having a backyard BBQ or relaxing after work. Munchkin loves her treats and takes them nicely and would likely do well in a family setting.

Roxy: 1 year old, Female, Cattle Dog mix, 60 pounds Roxy is super smart and very friendly! She picks up quickly on training and gets along well with her dog pals at the shelter. Roxy is still young and has plenty of playing to do! If you’re looking for a friendly, outgoing, and playful dog- this is your gal!

Slugger: 2 Month Old, Male, Domestic Shorthair Slugger is another one of our gorgeous black kittens who is getting overlooked. He has all the personality- loves to play, explore, and wrestle with his kitten buddies. Slugger would do great in a family environment and is ready to go home!

Lucy: 6 Month Old, Female, Chihuahua Mix, 7 pounds Little Lucy is a young Chihuahua mix that’s learning about the world. She loves playing with her dog friends at the shelter and has been playful towards the cats, too! She is expected to stay under 10 pounds and would be a great partner for someone looking for a small dog. Lucy can be bashful at first, but give her some time and she’ll be in your lap in no time.

Zurg: 3 year old, Male, Terrier/Chihuahua mix, 13 pounds Zurg is a happy boy! He has done well with other small dog friends at the shelter, enjoys time with people, and does not mind cats. He likes his playtime, but isn’t overly energetic and enjoys getting pets just as much as playtime. Zurg can jump pretty high for how small he is, so he will need a nice secured yard where he can run and play. He does well on a leash, and is eager to learn new things!

Quincy: 2 month old, Male, Shorthair This little guy will be one of the first to run up to you in the kitten room. Quincy is very social and loves to wrestle with other kittens and zoom around the playroom to keep himself busy. He’d love to come home with you!

Chai: 1 year old, Female, Long Haired Orange tabby, 7 pounds Chai absolutely loves to be pet and will purr all day. This stunning girl likes staying active and will enjoy a home where she can play, run, and climb cat trees to her heart’s content! Chai is very social and will likely be one of the first cats to greet you at our shelter. She’d love to meet you!

Doc: 1 1/2 years old, Male, Yellow Labrador mix, 50 pounds Doc is a silly boy who loves attention! Doc responds well to training and is very friendly with people. He thrives on keeping his brain busy with walks and playing with toys. Although Doc absolutely loves people, he would like to be the only dog in his new home. If you’re looking for a buddy that is class clown material, come meet Doc!
