Jarod Slade started out as the very Best Friend my son and I could ever ask for. He’s always making us laugh and always ready for an adventure, like a rainy day hike, backpacking, or night time light up nerf now war. He works really hard at work all day, but still finds time to help his friends and be a great role model to my son. When I was sick he brought me soup and played games with my son while I rested. He comes by after his work day and helps chop wood, feed the animals, do the heavy lifting, and even makes us dinner and reads bedtimes stories. He holds my hand when we’re in church on Sundays and even prays with us at dinner, even if we are out. He even has my sons art work all over his fridge and saves all the crafts he makes at school and gives to him. His neices and nephews live out of state but he carries various pictures of them in his wallet and showes them off anytime they are brought up & even has preformed a cell phone facetime concert for them singing on his guitar! My son looks up to him very much, and named him the best male role model in his life at school. He even requested Jarod to be in his Boy Scout camp skit with him, the only instrument there was a ukulele, so Jarod taught himself the song my son requested on the new instrument so he could be there for my son, who has stage fright. He works really hard and still has time to come over and make sure we are both loved & cared for ……and every time with out complaint finds time to fix something for us every visit. He’s a blessing to us and I want to let him know how much we notice and appreciate all the wonderful things he does for us!!
