Meet Weenie
Dear Big Joe and Bridgette,
I would like to nominate our dachshund, Buttons (A.K.A. Weenie), for Pet of the Week. Weenie turns 16 on Saturday, February 28. I got Weenie from a family that could not take care of her when she was just 12 weeks old. She is the toughest little dog I know. When she was 2 years old, she had a cancerous growth in her mouth removed. She recovered rather quickly with no sign of cancer since. In December, she had a splenectomy and made a fast recovery. She is now bouncing back from pneumonia. I am so happy that she is on the upswing, in spite of her setbacks. Weenie enjoys going “bye-bye”. She LOVES drive-thrus, Starbucks whipped cream, and going to Tractor Supply. In her spare time, Weenie likes to lay in the sun and sneak food from her doggie sisters. Weenie keeps the other dogs in check, even 60 pound, lab-mix Bella. Weenie is a people dog who has never met a stranger. My family and I love our Weenie dog. We will celebrate her birthday this week with a little party, and a gathering of her family and friends. Happy Birthday Weenie Girl!
