My feet hurt, my backs sore, and my nose is bleeding from sunburn, but honestly, this had to be the best country music vacation anyone could ever have! In the last few day we rubbed elbows with the biggest stars on the planet, watching them perform their biggest hits for more than 50,000 country to the bone fans every night during CMA Musicfest! Talk about being starstruck… Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Clint Black, Sugarland, Big and Rich, Blake and Miranda, Lady A, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton and more.
The streets were filled with country music fans from all over the world, Spain, Italy, Australia, France, China and even South Africa! Each trying to soak up as much of Nashville as possible and not just the hot southern sun. That’s a whole nother story. Thank God for all the vendors selling water for one dollar all over music city. You’d think they might try to up the price for bottled water for the festival, but we were pleasantly surprised to see the southern hospitality extended in that department as well. It was tough at times I will admit…walking, we “guesstamated” about 20 miles over the week long visit to Nashville. I’m sure my waistline appreciated it, but my feet did not.
Overall, it’s everything you hear and then some. Stars, stars and more stars. We did the Grand Ole Opry, Fan Fair Hall, Riverfront and LP field concerts, enjoyed the history of Broadway, The Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum and sharing the one common denominator that brought us all there to begin with, great country music. This was our first CMA Music Fest, but on July 30, 2011 tickets go on sale for CMA Music Fest 2012 and guess who’s going to be online buying tickets?
Check out some of the fun here.
